Doctor Vs God

Hi! I have resumed blogging after pretty long & am determined to be regular now onward.

Just happened to be a 'family dog' (silent observer) at a doctor patient interaction session. The patient at the scene was accompanied by her husband & was listening intently to the surgeon who was trying to explain her condition & procedure for surgery.
For the surgeon its takes a fine balance of words to not make something look like a regular chore or just a simple job while ensuring that the patient is able to develop enough trust on the person who is taking responsibility of her life.
This surgeon, I must say,was very good at his(this) job. He allowed the conversation to flow in the patient's way. When this patient wanted to talk about her most auspicious day or when she spoke about how her God had always protected her from all perils of life...the surgeon made sure that with each word he spoke she became lighter & more confident.
For the first time I realized how critical it is for doctors to build up a relation with their patient & how much pressure this job entails...
hence the reward...this doctor becomes nothing less than God for the patient when the result is positive!
